War Trolls Set 3 from Dark Alliance. Still have one to paint up. For this I used mostly Model Color paints which gave a more nuanced effect than Citadel. I did use Citadel for the metals although I experimented with mixing with some colours which seem to work quite well. For the base I used astrogranite texture from Citadel with MIG weathering pigments (city dust and black smoke).

Take No Chances

A quick blow to the head to make sure.

Orc from Dark Alliance. Knight from Valdemar.

The Bruce

This is King Robert the Bruce, during the Scottish Wars of Independence - specifically the Battle of Bannockburn of 1314.

Figures are from the 'Scotland Forever' set by Valdemar Miniatures.

Background image is not Scotland, as residents of Stirling and Falkirk will attest, but rather Sebastiao Salgado's image of Alaska.

Sons of the Desert

The Lawrence of Arabia set from Strelets sat on the shelf for a while. But then I rewatched the amazing David Lean movie and it could languish no longer.
